When: 6th August 2011 - 10th August 2011
Who: My family
What: A family summer vacation
How: By AirAsia
Day 1
We took off from LCCT at 1.45pm and touched down at Krabi Airport at 1.45pm. No doubt, there is time zone difference from Krabi to Malaysia. Transportation service from Airport to our hotel is included, so our first stop was at Baan Andaman which is a hotel located nearby Krabi Town.
#01We were served with welcome drinks and the friendly staff helped to carry our luggage to our rooms. Very comfortable and clean room equipped with nice furniture. *two thumbs up. It is located near to Krabi town within walking to destination to Krabi Night Market which only happens on weekend. So, after we had some rest, we walked to Krabi Town and passed by Krabi post office, Krabi immigration office and shops.
#02 We stopped at shopping center to have some rest after 20 minutes of walking under the hot sun And decided to take a few scoops of ice-cream at Swensens which the price is cheaper compared to Malaysia according to my elder sister.
#03 Hmm.... It was not as tasty as I expected :( but a good try !
#04 One of the cafes we passed by..
It was a free and easy trip at low season, we did not make any reservation for islands snorkelling via online, therefore we searched for tourist agency around there to get some tour packages.
We found an agency nearby and paid for two days tour packages (from 9am to 4pm) to Hong Islands at 600baht/person (RM60) by long tail boat and to Phi Phi Islands at 850baht /person (RM85) by speed boat (it is further) inclusive of hotel transfer, lunch, drinking water, life jacket, mask, snorkel, experienced guide, entrance fee and insurance (not sure what does the insurance cover).
You do not have to make reservation via online because it is a lot cheaper to visit the tour agency physically. according to our agent. And it is refundable if the weather is bad. If you cannot find any agency around Krabi Town, I would suggest you to go to Aonang because there are many tourist agencies along Aonang street at almost same price or even cheaper (at low season).
#05 Next, we stopped at Seven Eleven, I've always wanted to visit every time I go overseas. Because Seven Eleven in other countries have variety of food and beverages especially in Taiwan not like in Malaysia :(
#06 Headed to Night Market at 5 something, some of the stalls were still preparing to start their business, some already started selling food and drinks.
#07 I like to eat petai !
#08 Colourful jelly.
#09
#10 Had some delicious local food at the night market. I like the pineapple the most! It was very sweet and juicy, something very special with it, I couldn't explain, you should try it!
#11 Baht for one spring roll and the above is Chicken Kebab, it was really delicious and it reminds me of Bali where I had Chicken Kebab too :D
#12
My mom and I were seated and the others were searching for food and drinks. Abruptly, my mom asked me to stand up straight. Then, only I realised that Thailand National Anthem were being played in night market at that moment, that was why my mom asked me to stand up as everyone around already stood up few seconds ago. Sorry, we really didn't know it was National Anthem until my mom felt something unusual around us. *please take note
After enjoying the night market food, we walked around. Souvenirs, clothes and crafts can be found there. After this, we walked back to our hotel.

#13 Took bath and had some games at the hotel lobby as the night was still young.
#14
#15 Wifi is provided for the people like us who can't live without Internet, even my parents ... haha!
#16 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Baan Andaman hotel ;)
#17 Although the lobby is small but the ambiance is very beautiful and unique! Great place, nice stay and highly recommended !
#18 Readings corner! You can take the book back with you and replace it with yours.
Day 2
#19 Breakfast was served with American style.
We stayed at Baan Andaman hotel for one night and to be honest that was enough because Aonang is more happening. After breakfast, we packed our luggage to wait for the agent to pick us up to Hong Island. Honestly, we were quite disappointed with the agent. We have been told that dry bag will be provided to avoid our belongings to get wet and they promised that they will take care of our luggage and place them in their office. But when we reached the gather place at Klong Muang beach. The tour guide told us that they did not include this kind of service. We were pissed off and wanted to go back Krabi town to find the agent next day. At last, the tour guide kept our luggage in the open-air-van where we felt insecure :(
We started our journey at 9.30am by long tail boat. The boat stopped in the middle of the sea and we snorkeled there. It is quite difficult for those who have no snorkeling experience to go for open sea snorkeling.
After 40 minutes, we went back to the boat and most of us had motion sickness caused by the wave. I felt dizzy and felt like vomiting along the journey to Hong Island.
#20 Eventually, we reached Hong Island. The above picture shows us the evacuation route if Tsunami happens.
#21 The beach is naturally beautiful :)
#22 Fantastic white powder sands
#24 Immensely breathtaking view !
#25
We had our lunch there at around 12.30PM. The food provided was good. *no worries
#27 Next, we took our boat direct to a famous hiding room which is named as Hong's "room" lagoon inside the island with high towers of limestone cliffs on all side. You can also see mangrove forest which is hidden in this laggoon.
The one day trip ended at 4.00PM. The tourguide sent us to our hotel which is Aonang Paradise located at Aonang street near to a Mc Donald's. I love the layout of the hotel due to its stylist combination of tropical lifesytle and unique interior design ;) The hotel itself is hidden down a side street and it is quite scary if you walk alone. But it is very convenient for tourist because it is located near to hawkers and Seven Eleven where you can find food easily :D
#28 We stayed here for three nights. The staffs are really friendly and nice. They helped us with our luggages and served us welcome drinks. The room and washroom are clean and spacious, not much to complain.
#29 We had our buffet dinner which cost us 250 Baht/ Person (RM25). Exclusive of beverage but inclusive of ice cream. A lot of variety and the BBQ pork chop was the best, 3.5/5 for that.
#30 Night life in Aonang street
#31 I was attracted by their fascinating vivid paintings.
#32 They are really gifted.
#34 Free unlimited internet access is provided in almost every hotels in Krabi nowadays. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Aonang!
Day 3
#35
Woke at 9 something next day and took breakfast at the hotel. Enough variety, all our favourite items were in the menu. Our plan for that day was exploring Aonang.

#36
It took about 15 minutes of walking distance from our Hotel to the beach. Surpringsingly, no one was swimming or sunbathing there.
#37
#38 Sourveniers and crafts, bags, t-shirts and many other stuffs can be found at those shops located along the Aonang street. How about the price? Depending on how smart and how good you are in bargaining ... Haha!
#39 My all time favourite soda bottle drinks with the hot weather. 10 baht/bottle at Seven Eleven.
#40 Thai oil massage is a must! You must not miss out Thai massage in your itenary. Only 250 Baht/ person (RM25). The massage was marvelous, I always think of it when I am exhausted.
#42 The pork burger was so yummy. *thumbs up
#43 Back to our hotel at 3 something, and we saw this adorable elephant in towel. The hotel staff was incredibly sweet and nice to us ;) We went for swimming at 4 something. The pool area was peaceful and cosy with beautiful mountain backdrop.
#44 We had our dinner at a Thai restaurant at Aonang street too. The tom yam kung was superb! Overall, it was not really worth for 900baht for 4 dishes and 3 drinks. Thai Tea is absolutely not recommended because it was like our M'sia te-tarik-tambah manis x3
#45 Pancake hawker.
#46 Pancake banana with nutella. Just like our M'sia roti canai. Special and delicious.
#47
Day 4
On the next day, we went to Phi Phi Island by speed boat.
#48 First stop at Bamboo island.
#49 Enjoyed swimming in Bamboo Island for 1 hour in unspoiled beauty clean and clear sea water
#50 Next, headed to Viking Cave where bird nest is collected for soup.
#51 Well, we really enjoyed our snorkelling sessions and touching with a great number of fish although the corals are abundant and have dull colours.
#53 Arrived at Maya Bay at around 11 something. It was very crowded, we couldn't swim at all, only can have photograph session.
#54 Yes, we bought two dry bags for only 800 Baht (RM80). They are very useful and spacious. You can put your valuable beloggings like wallet, camera and mobile phone in dry bag , you do not have to worry about your belongging of getting wet.
#55 I have been to Lang Tengah before but still found great fun looking for corals and fishes. I love snorkelling and I feel amazed with underwater world so rich with corals and fishes (:
#57 Dinner at hawker where the price was reasonable and the food and drinks were awesome.
#58 How small the world is? I met my ex-colleague in Aonang street. What a coincidence!
Day 5
#59 Thanks to Air Asia for bringing to such beautiful places like Taiwan, Bali, Langkahwi and Krabi at low price. I am looking forward to more Free&Easy trip.
#60 Many say floating in the air is impossible but so called Levitation Photography is possible ;P
#61 Chang Beer, the famous brand in Thailand.
It was nice seeing how much everyone enjoying themselves especially my family. I had no thoughts, no worries about my work. Only ocean, only us. I am proudly to tell you that we only spent RM750 per person including air tickets, accommodation, meals, massage and shopping. We had a fabulous family vacation. And .... we called it a pleaseant trip !
